Typical centrifugal pump datasheet

When issuing a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for centrifugal pumps, it is strongly advisable that a detailed pump datasheet is included.

A datasheet including as much information as possible will save the pump manufacturer-supplier considerable time from having to browse through tens or even hundreds of pages of specifications in order to find the necessary information in order to provide the best quotation in a timely manner.

Contents of centrifugal pump datasheet

1) First of all, we need to identify the project and the pumps by providing all necessary details. Pumps are usually identified through widely-accepted KKS identification system.

2) Basic operating parameters of the pump (operating temperature, pressure or pump differential head, flow, NPSHavailable) together with any other details that may prove useful (e.g. chemical analysis of the pumped fluid, pH value etc) need to be provided to the pump manufacturer-supplier for proper selection.

3) Details that are project-specific to the pump like for example materials of construction, impellers size, flanges rating will be provided by the pump manufacturer-supplier, after receiving relevant feedback from the inquiry. For example, materials of construction for the pump parts can be specified after taking into consideration the temperature, chemical analysis and pH value of the pumped fluid, whereas flange rating can be defined after taking into consideration design pressure and design temperature values provided to the pump manufacturer-supplier.

4) If we want to help pump manufacturer-supplier even further, we can include in the pump datasheet more specific details about painting requirements, instrumentation requirements (number and type of temperature-pressure-vibration-level instrumentation), noise limitations (so as to decide whether a pump or motor enclosure is necessary to be quoted or not) etc.
